As I'm sure some of you will have realised by now, a university student's worst enemy is something scientists have come to refer to as 'Procrastination'. It is a serious illness which is sure to affect everyone at least a few times throughout their higher education. Whilst its true that there are multiple ways of combating this problem, there is at least one force on the internet doing it's best to obliterate even the slightest sliver of chance of you getting that essay in before it's ever-encroaching deadline: StumbleUpon.
Do not be warned by its deceptive nature as a mere internet-based 'interest application'.
The thing is with StumbleUpon, there's no really easy way of explaining what it is or what it does. Its best just to jump in head-first by downloading it. You punch in a number of things you're interested in, for instance, Nature, Skateboarding and Poetry... and it will randomly select the highest-voted pages dedicated to each subject on the internet. See specimen above for a perfect example of just what StumbleUpon is capable of exposing you to, even if you're not even aware you're interested in. Our subject for today, completely by random, remember - 'The Twenty Most Amazing Microscopic Images Ever!'
Whilst the surface of a strawberry might not seem like the most exciting thing to Google, StumbleUpon makes even the mundane aspects of day-to-day existence fascinating.
That, and every so often it offers you pictures of people walking into lampposts.
Merry Christmas, folks.
